The Herd

It has been a while since I have introduced the herd and there are new additions. These are a solid group that bring great joy to everyone that interacts with them. They work moderately hard and are cared for like kings (because they are kings!). They have a lot of freedom and the very best of everything that a horse could want.

Skhy: The Hero. He is the storybook horse; brave, beautiful, sensitive but tough as nails. Our connection is deep and rooted in mutual respect. I have never (ever) failed him and he has returned the favor.

Cosmo: The Baby. At only three years old he is the youngster, but such an old soul. He came from a race barn in Texas and has royalty and speed in his veins. We are going slow and he is deciding that I am a solid person. This little one has the heart of a lion. I cannot wait to see him grow and mature.

Roger: The One-In-A-Million. Brains, beauty and brawn. He has it all, topped off with a heart of solid gold. He was a pro rodeo roping horse (heeler) and fortuitously found his new home with us. He instills the confidence anyone might need to “get back in the saddle”.

Scout: The Cadillac. Hands down, he is the smoothest horse I have ever had the pleasure to ride. Four wheel drive powered by a V-8 engine. Filled with quirks and oddities but absolutely rock solid. He is everyone’s ride of choice.

Angus: The Big Guy. Big, goofy and tender hearted. He is a pleasure to be around but still has baby issues. His mischievous streak is always getting him in a pickle in the herd. He is an awe inspiring horse.

Stetson: The Sweetest. He came to us with very low self esteem and lack of confidence issues. I switched him out to a bitless bridle (after this pic) and showed him I will always be there for him. It worked, he started emerging and showing his sugar sweet personality. Honest and charming.

I am thankful to have these amazing creatures gracing my life.
